Urinal advertising is an advertisement placed inside or above a urinal in a men’s restroom. In South Africa the most popular method seems to be A4 size framed adverts (usually aluminum snap frames) although some nightclubs have larger interactive screens above their urinals.
With a usually captive male audience common urinal advertisers include TV shows (usually sports), male medication, insurance and anti-drunk driving messages.
Different types of urinal advertising

Advertisement inside of urinal (on top of urinal and above urinal drain)

Examples of urinal advertising
Through renting out ad space on the urinal, toilet operators can earn revenues to pay for cleaners, maintenance of the facilities and toiletries. I also feel that that urinal advertising could be a cure for annoying pay toilets – although some pay toilet operators claim that their pay-to-pee toilets are designed keep vagrants away who use the facilities to wash themselves.
